Twitter launched ‘Verified Accounts’

13 June 2009 No Comment

Diddy Twitter Account
Twitter recently launched the beta version of it’s verified accounts. The reason behind this is to prevent confusion and to establish authenticity with people who deal with impersonation or identity confusion on a regular basis.

Twitter Verified Accounts will be initially available to well-known accounts that have had problems with impersonation or identity confusion like well-known artists, athletes, actors, public officials, and public agencies. Accounts verification for other users may be available in the future

Accounts carrying the ‘Verified Account’ badge are deemed authentic, but this also does not mean that accounts without the ‘Verified Account’ badge are fake.
